What is IELTS
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an English proficiency test that assesses an individual’s English language proficiencies: Writing, Reading, Listening and Speaking.
Who take IELTS
Citizens belonging to Non- English speaking countries, if they like to study or work or immigrate to an English speaking country like the United Kingdom or Australia, must take IELTS.
What is Academic /General Module:
Individuals aspiring to study in an English speaking country must take the Academic module.
However, individuals planning to immigrate to UK, Australia, Canada…. etc., either to work or to start their own business, must take the IELTS General module.
IELTS Score:
IELTS scores are awarded in terms of band scores ranging from 0-9. Test takers must try to get at least 7.0 bands so that it may serve their purpose.
IELTS Test Structure:
There are two broad categories of IELTS test:
Academic module and General module. Each module consists of four sections/modules:
- Writing
- Reading
- Listening
- Speaking
